The Boy Wants To Play The Blues

See what happens when I play the guitar all day. I just love playing the blues over two chords on my Strat!

They say that tone comes from the fingers, what does this mean? I've got a torn tone? :)

Do I Look Pale?

I've been sick for the past three days which is quite refreshing actually. It's nature's way of telling me to slow down a bit, rest up and give my body a break. The funny thing though is usually when I fall sick, I don't look it. I could look perfectly normal on the outside when in actual fact my body is just caving in and pretty much in pain. This can be a bit frustrating because everyone around me thinks I am fine and I might be faking it. I had to cop a lot of flak especially when I was in school. My parents used to think I was faking it to ditch a couple of days of school. I guess everyone is different and some people are more prone to getting sick while others can go for years without even getting a cold. Oh well, I guess that's my story eh?

Anyway, looking on the bright side, being sick just gives me a chance to relax and recuperate before the gig on Sunday with Erin Shay. So all is good.

T-hink About It

You know what's worse than those annoying spam emails that end up in your spam box asking if you want to enlarge your manhood to please your woman longer or those that try to sell you cheap "genuine" Rolex watches? Paying to advertise for companies. Yes, that's right.

Think about it. Everyone wears t-shirts right? What are you doing when you buy an expensive branded t-shirt with their large logo printed on it? You're actually waving it around like a flag for the already well-known and established brand, for free! Worse still, they took your hard-earned money to advertise for them!

So if you're going to wear t-shirts that advertise something anyway, why not wear band t-shirts and get bands' names out there? If you've got a favourite band, buy their merchandise. They're way cheaper than any of the made in China crap out there anyway and they're high quality. It's even better if it's an independent band. That's one way you can support them. It supports a whole industry really, the musicians make some money from merch to tour and make music, artists and graphic designers get work to design those awesome t-shirts and the printing industry is kept healthy by producing the merch.

Think about it.

Today's Google logo is cool! Now I feel like getting a cookie monster collectible. I've been quite obsessed with collecting things lately. I've always been collecting things but nothing that is really of great value. When I bought my Transformers Generation One toys, I planned to keep them mint in the box but I thought, what the heck, I never really got to play with them when I was a kid so I ripped them out of the box and played with them. That move just took away any value the toys had. Unless you wanna consider having them pre-loved by Kevin Broken Scar to have value.

It's like collecting guitars. I want to be a guitar collector that plays all my guitars and not just having them on display, unless I have so many I can't get through them all. That would be nice too. Having more guitars than I can play. That's the dream!
